Alan Stewart is Treasurer of Fortitude Re, responsible for the company’s capital strategy, funding and short-term investment activities, rating agency relationships as well as treasury operations and cash management.  

He has more than 25 years of insurance industry experience, with deep expertise in borrowing facilities, debt capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, capital structure optimization, rating agency relations, liquidity management, and short-term investment strategies. 

Prior to joining Fortitude Re, Alan held several senior leadership roles at AIG, including Global Head of Funding and Investments, CIO of United Guaranty, and President of AIG Markets. In these positions, he led strategic initiatives across capital markets, investment management, and corporate finance. Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior Auditor at Deloitte & Touche. 

Alan holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Finance from the University of Southern California. 

Outside of work, Alan enjoys outdoor activities including running, hiking and golf, and appreciates time spent in both the mountains and at the beach. He is a sports enthusiast and father of three children.
