Fortitude Re Partners with Educational Arts Team in support of the Arts and Academic Success

Fortitude Re is excited to announce a new partnership with Educational Arts Team (“EdArts”), a Jersey City based charity founded in 1974. EdArts engages young people with arts-based programs that connect creativity with critical thinking to stimulate personal growth and academic achievement and produce a more meaningful learning experience. EdArts’ main programs include after school arts & literacy programs and Camp Liberty, a summer camp held in Liberty State Park. The organization’s programs target low-income areas of Jersey City and surrounding neighborhoods. Diversity, Equity, Access and Inclusion are in the fabric of every EdArts’ initiative.

As part of the Fortitude Re For Good initiative, Fortitude Re’s efforts will support EdArts’ main programs, including scholarships for Camp Liberty and expanding school-based and after school programs. Additionally, Fortitude Re has committed to support EdArts’ programs through individual and small volunteering opportunities available throughout the year and future larger group volunteer events in Jersey City.

“It has been a privilege to partner with Educational Arts. I have a deep appreciation of their programming for underprivileged children, and after volunteering in person, I witnessed firsthand the hundreds of parents and children that are benefiting from this organization. It is evident that this group values education, and we are thrilled to partner with and support EdArts,” said Vinh Nguyen, AVP, Internal Audit & Fortitude Re for Good Committee Member

“It has been a pleasure to watch the kind and generous employees of Fortitude Re really get into the spirit of volunteerism. Through our partnership, they have been supporting children in JCBOE public schools during our art-education Family Literacy and Bringing Literature to Life classes. We have been able to see, in action, the power of how cross-sector collaborations between the business and community-based non-profit organizations impact young people, our schools, our families and educators. We are thrilled about this budding partnership and look forward to all we can accomplish together. We are so grateful for Fortitude Re’s support this year,” said Cynthia Renta, Executive Director, Educational Arts Team.
